#55to55, day 4
My little sister Biangela and me. Not twins, but #LaMama loved dressing us like we were—at least for special occasions. Funny enough, Biangela is now a twin boys’ mom, and today happens to be their 24th birthday.
Growing up our styles couldn’t have been more different. Biangela was a tomboy, while I was all about heels and dresses. Shopping trips were fun because we wore the same size, which meant lots of swapping. Add our cousins Lisette and Annette to the mix, and our wardrobe rotation kept things exciting.
Our sleepovers as teens were the best. Before heading out, we’d try on each other’s outfits, modeling them like it was Fashion Week in our bedroom. Annette, the couturier in the family, even made us custom clothes from time to time—those pieces were extra special.
Now, decades later, things have flipped. I’m more laid-back, while Biangela pulls out all the stops. But some things, like our shared love of clothes and laughter, never change.
